The first edition of “El bosque es vida”, IRI Colombia’s bimonthly newsletter, was published on September 1(find a copy here). It includes updates on the activities of IRI Colombia, educational facts about tropical forests and the rights of indigenous peoples, and makes linkages between urban and rural IRI local chapters. This edition includes an infographic on the ABCs of forests; an interview with Lilia Roa-Fuentes, Director of Environmental and Rural Studies at the Pontifical Javeriana University, on the relationship between forests and the pandemic; and introductions by Pastor Edgar Castaño, president of the Evangelical Conference of Colombia (CEDECOL) and the local coordinators of the four local IRI chapters installed last year: Pastor William Porras, coordinator of IRI-San Jose del Guaviare; Pastor Leonardo Ballesteros, coordinator of IRI-La Macarena; Pastor Oscar Fernando Andrade, coordinator of IRI-Cartagena del Chairá; and Pastor Isidro Martinez, coordinator of IRI-San Vicente del Caguán.
