On July 26th and on the occasion of Peru’s bicentennial celebration transmitted on TV Péru, former President Francisco Sagastim, government authorities, ministers, ambassadors, members of the Inter-religious Council of Peru and more came together as an act of interreligious peace to honor the country. Rabbi Guillermo Broinstein and Laura Vargas presented a homily that included messages about the importance of reconciliation between Peruvians and Mother Earth. They both insisted on the inclusion of a care paradigm to respond to the serious rates of deforestation in the Amazon over the past several years.
