IRI Peru participated in the Diocesan Social Week, in which the diocese of Chosica brings together parish pastoral workers and social leaders to reflect on social issues of interest. In this Social Week, Laura Vargas, IRI Peru National Facilitator, gave a presentation on “Climate Change and Care for Forests,” which emphasised the urgency of caring for the Amazon forests as a natural way to address climate change. The presentation sparked an important dialogue, in which over 50 parish pastoral agents called for the diocese to develop concrete alternative actions to address climate change.
