As part of its efforts around World Environment Day, IRI Colombia launched the Friends of the Amazon campaign, which aims to increase recognition of the program as a national movement dedicated to the protection of the Amazon rainforest and the rights of the Indigenous Peoples.The campaign brings together other entities and campaigns that work toward the protection of the Amazon rainforest, including through interviews with local religious and faith leaders on local radio stations, and the publication of promotional materials (videos, infographics, and literary pieces). Religious leaders from IRI Colombia’s local chapters gave interviews broadcast by nine radio stations that together reached approximately 1,551,140 people.
