IRI-Colombia, in collaboration with Dipaz Colombia and the World Council of Churches, held a series of strategic meetings with 38 delegates from national and international religious organizations with the purpose of coordinating meaningful accompaniment to faith leaders who participated in COP16, held in Cali.
These meetings made it possible to strengthen the bonds of collaboration and mutual support, establishing joint guidelines to address environmental and social challenges from a perspective of faith and ethical commitment to climate justice.
As host of this space for dialogue, IRI-Colombia facilitated an environment conducive to the exchange of ideas and the establishment of alliances that will contribute to the collective work of international faith-based organizations in climate change mitigation efforts.
This coordination reaffirms the commitment of IRI-Colombia and its allies to be a bridge of support and action, in line with the shared values of care and respect for creation, thus strengthening the role of faith communities in building a sustainable and equitable future for all.
Likewise, during the celebration of COP16, IRI-Colombia, the World Council of Churches and ACT Alliance held a meeting with 17 representatives of different churches and faith communities who were present at this important environmental event.
This face-to-face meeting, held on October 22 at the headquarters of Unibautista (Cali), sought to generate a space for dialogue for religious leaders to get to know each other, present their work programs and share the agendas that each organization would develop at the Summit.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the World Council of Churches, ACT Alliance, Dipaz Colombia, the Presbyterian Church of the United States, the Baptist Church, the Churches and Mining network, and the Ecospirituality platform, among others.
