IRI-Colombia continues to work to expand public awareness of the importance of the Amazonian tropical forests and the urgency of protecting them, through communication campaigns. On this occasion, we are preparing a radio campaign that will be developed in the 14 municipalities where our 42 local chapters are located and in more than 80 stations nationwide.
The campaign consists of a series of radio spots that will focus on the close link between Amazon forests and the health of Colombians, and will address issues such as air, water, zoonotic diseases and natural disasters.
These messages will be transmitted between seven and ten times a day, for six months, on the stations Chairá Estéreo, Ecos del Caguán, Caquetá Stereo and La Exitosa, in Caquetá; Amazonia Estéreo, Ke Buena, Latina Stereo and La Voz de la Esperanza, from Putumayo; and Marandúa Stereo, from Guaviare.
In addition, IRI-Colombia managed to consolidate an alliance with the radio stations Radio Policía Nacional, from San José del Guaviare, and Colombia Estéreo (network of 83 stations nationwide), which joined this campaign and will broadcast the spots through their radio frequencies.
Through this campaign, IRI-Colombia aims to reach more than two million listeners in the Amazon and throughout the country, and in this way, begin to form a great national movement in favor of the protection of our Amazon rainforest.
