IRI Indonesia launches religious teaching books on rainforests, training, 700 religious leaders

Within a three-month period, IRI Indonesia delivered a noteworthy interfaith mobilization across all eight Religious Councils dedicated to halting and reversing deforestation. Through a series of launch events, IRI Indonesia launched two guidebooks, Faith Teachings for Rainforest Protection and The Role of Houses of Worship in Environmental Stewardship, and provided training to over 700 religious leaders throughout the archipelago.

Collaborating with the eight official Religious Councils in the country, IRI Indonesia developed a replicable national framework that integrates, scientific principles, religious doctrines, and civic engagement in support of rainforests and Indigenous Peoples.
