IRI-Colombia participates in RFN strategic workshops

IRI-Colombia participated in a series of three workshops organized by Rainforest Foundation Norway with the aim of planning strategic actions for 2026.

The first workshop focused on the Policy on Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Abuse, and Sexual Harassment (PEAAS), which establishes principles and standards to prevent sexual misconduct, facilitate the filing of complaints and reports, ensure an effective response to them, and promote accountability.

This policy reflects RFN’s efforts to institutionalize an ethical culture of respect for human rights, gender equality, and accountability among staff and in relation to communities and actors in tropical forests.

Over two days, the IRI-Colombia team and representatives from various civil society and indigenous organizations allied with RFN received training on SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) and identified the basic structural elements needed to begin building a policy to protect against such inappropriate sexual conduct.

The second was a follow-up workshop to last year’s assessment of the coherence of RFN programs in Colombia, which aimed to analyze the interaction between Rainforest Foundation Norway and its partners in the country, as well as the relationship between the partners themselves. This analysis focused on possible synergies, collaborations, and interactions that could optimize the program’s impact.

Throughout the day, participants analyzed the eleven recommendations that resulted from this analysis, which seek to strengthen coherence and contribute to the sustainability of the processes.

The third workshop focused on logical frameworks, a management tool used to improve the design of interventions—at the project, national program, and donor levels—that facilitates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a development intervention.
