On 29 September, the IRI partnership held a webinar titled, “What Is the Biodiversity Summit and Why Is It Important for the Interfaith Rainforest Initiative”. The webinar included facilitation by Dr. Valerie Kapos, Head of Program on Climate Change and Biodiversity at UNEP-WCMC; opening remarks from Charles McNeill, Senior Advisor on Forests and Climate, UNEP on the potential contribution of IRI (globally and in program countries) to post-2020 goals around forests and biodiversity conservation; remarks from Gregorio Diaz Mirabal,General Coordinator, Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA), and many others.
