On June 23rd, IRI Peru held a webinar to reflect on the value of forests to the country, the need to keep them healthy, and the opportunities they offer for sustainable development. The webinar included the participation of Fabiola Muñoz as well as senior leadership from UNEP, the Instituto del Bien Común, Rainforest Foundation Norway and El Bosque de las Nuwas. Topics of the virtual panel included reforestation, the importance of forests in Peru, forests as a development tool, forests for communities, climate funding for local organizations and the El Bosque de las Nuwas’ initiative, a community-led project to preserve traditional knowledge.
