Following a tree planting session held in Bali for Earth Day, Permabudhi Makassar was inspired to carry out a similar activity. Father Yonggris Lao, Head of Permabudhi in the South Sulawesi Region, developed a program to plant 5,000 trees of which 2,000 were planted for the celebration of Vesak (Buddha day). Interfaith representatives, religious institutions as well as the former Mayor of Makassar participated in the event and planted trees around the mosque.
