IRI Peru has released a new forest restoration primer as a practical guide for faith communities to undertake restoration activities. The primer provides an overview of why forest restoration is a necessary complement to forest protection efforts, and offers suggestions for how religious leaders and faith-based organizations can develop their own restoration projects. Included in the primer are several case studies of restoration in action in Peru, including work by the Presbyterian Church of Moyobamba, in the San Martín region, where faith groups are restoring the banks of the Rumiyacu and Mishquiyacu.
