IRI Brazil has released its national issue primer on forest restoration as a contribution to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. The primer includes information about the importance of forest restoration as a necessary complement to protection efforts as well as case studies of successful forest restoration efforts in the country, including where the local government of Espírito Santo has implemented a strategy encouraging inhabitants to reforest 80,000 hectares of land and where a local company has transformed pastureland into a forest of native tree species.
