IRI Colombia and the environmental organization Alisos met with House Representative Juan Carlos Losada to seek support from different sectors of the legislative branch for the proposals for National Development Plan, 2022-2026 that have been put forward by IRI Colombia, Alisos and important organizations like Gran Tierra Energy, Gaia Amazonas, Fundación para la Conservación y el Desarrollo Sostenible, Fundación Natura, GIZ, Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Parques Nacionales Cómo Vamos. During the meeting at the National Capitol, the congressman was briefed on the document “The Amazon has a voice in the PND 2022-2026”, the name given to this initiative, which aims to propose to the Colombian government to incorporate proposals for the Amazon that are formulated in the regions into the National Development Plan, 2022-2026. Representative Juan Carlos Lozada pledged to accompany the process and to participate in the meeting to be held on October 4, during which regional representatives will choose the six final program proposals from the 36 selected during the departmental meetings held throughout the year.
