As part of the cooperation agreement IRI Peru has with the Ministry of Environment, on 28 December the program held a virtual event for the Ministry of Environment to publicly present the results of UN Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diveristy (COP 15) and the challenges that the new global commitments imply for the internal agenda in Peru. MINAM was represented by the specialists who were part of the Peruvian delegation at the COP and the Vice-Minister of Strategic Development, Karina Pinasco. Also participating as panelists were leading specialists and representatives of interest groups such as Marco Arenas of SERNANP, Gabriel Quijandría of IUCN South, Monsignor Miguel Cadenas – Bishop of Iquitos and member of the IRI Peru Advisory Council – and Cristina López of DAR. The event brought together 80 participants. IRI Peru also held a dialogue in alliance with Resucita Peru Now, the Integral Ecology Commission, entitled “Citizens and Public Action for Water” to discuss ways of collaboration between local and regional groups working for water conservation in the regions of Tacna, Moquegua, Puno, Cusco, Lima, Iquitos and Piura. .
