IRI Brazil facilitates training for Evangelical leaders on tropical forests, climate change and the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities

IRI Brazil facilitated an in-person training event for a group of 35 evangelical leaders from eight out of the nine states of the Legal Amazon. The trainings took place at the National Center for Monitoring and Alerts of Natural Disasters (CEMADEN) and the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and focused on tropical forests, climate change, and the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities. The outcomes of the training were overwhelmingly positive, with participants awarding an average rating of 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being poor and 5 being excellent). Additionally, a significant number of participants expressed keen interest in engaging in further activities facilitated by IRI Brazil, including online courses, screening the AmazĂ´nia Viva film in their religious institutions, recommending other leaders for future training sessions, and actively participating in IRI Brazil chapters across the Amazon.
