During a meeting with Dom Ricardo Hoepers, General Secretary of CNBB, Father Marcus Barbosa, who represents the CNBB on the IRI Brazil Advisory Council and serves as an Advisor to the Episcopal Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue, along with Carlos Vicente, the National Facilitator of IRI Brazil, officially established a partnership to collaborate on various initiatives. Their first joint action will be a scientific visit to CEMADEN and INPE, scheduled for December. The purpose of the visit is to provide Catholic bishops with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of disaster prevention and response strategies in the face of climate-related emergencies, as well as the crucial significance of forest preservation.
