In a meeting with Dr. Marco Lucena, Executive Director of the Association of Municipalities of Acre – AMAC, in the city of Rio Branco-Ac, on February 3 2024, an agreement was reached to carry out joint agendas throughout 2024. The first activity would be for AMAC representatives to take part in a scientific immersion at CEMADEN and INPE and to give talks to specialists on topics related to sustainable development. The creation of a working agenda with AMAC is strategic for the restoration and preservation of the rainforest because it allows for sensitizing and engaging the mayors of the state of Acre, together with their main advisors and the technical staff of the municipalities, providing them with knowledge, data and connecting them to the debate on alternatives for the sustainable development of the municipalities they govern.
