In a meeting with Manoel Monteiro de Oliveira, Director of the Cooperatives of Extractivists of Acre (COOPERACRE), IRI Brazil presented its work and explored opportunities for partnership. A key outcome of the meeting is COOPERACRE’s commitment to take part in activities aimed at raising awareness among religious and faith leaders on the importance of rainforest conservation, by giving guided tours and supplying seedlings of forest species for the restoration projects that will be developed by the churches that are members of the IRI Brazil local chapters in Acre.
