The event highlighted the consequences of the expansion of cattle ranching and other extractive activities not only on the Amazon biome, but also the entire country. IRI Colombia was joined by delegates from government institutions such as the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology, and Environmental Studies (IDEAM), the Amazonian Institute of Scientific Research (SINCHI), and Corpoamazonia; civil society organisations such as the Foundation for Conservation and Sustainable Development (FCDS), Rainforest Foundation Norway (RFN), and the National Organisation of Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon (OPIAC); representatives from academic institutions such as the Universidad del Rosario and the Universidad de Los Andes; and other key stakeholders.
