As an active member of the Listen to the Amazon Alliance, IRI-Colombia is committed to preparing key activities for the upcoming COP 16.
This conference, which is the biannual meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, aims to assess progress and set new targets to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.
In this framework, the Listen to the Amazon Alliance will launch a didactic publication in a foldable format, focused on the challenges and opportunities that COP 16 presents for the protection of biological diversity in the Amazon. This educational material will not only highlight the relevance of updating the National Action Plan on Biodiversity, but will also explore opportunities to set ambitious and realistic goals that ensure the conservation of Amazonian biodiversity.
This initiative of the Alliance is crucial to raise awareness and educate diverse audiences about the importance of COP 16 and the vital role of the Amazon in global biodiversity. Through this effort, IRI-Colombia and its allies seek to influence the formulation of effective policies and strategies that protect this essential ecosystem, promoting an integrative and participatory approach in the fight against biodiversity loss.
