The Interfaith Rainforest Initiative met with a group of Scientology representatives to present its work in the country for the past six years, but also to talk to them about the deforestation crisis and its direct relationship to biodiversity loss, and to highlight the strategic importance of the United Nations Conference on Biological Diversity (COP16). which will be held in October in Cali, Valle del Cauca.
In addition to addressing the objectives of this meeting, its organization and the way it will be developed, Blanca Lucía Echeverry and Carlos Augusto Lozano, national coordinator and advisor of IRI-Colombia, respectively, spoke about the progress of the Initiative regarding its participation, in alliance with other institutions, in this relevant international environmental event.
