IRI Brazil launched a community-based climate data initiative called the Inter-Religious Network of Meteorological Mini-Stations of the Amazon (RIMME). The program distributed 30 low-cost mini weather stations to faith-linked community sites and provided hands-on training for installation and use, allowing local leaders to generate and access territory-based data directly.
RIMME also established publicly accessible, real-time dashboards intended to support early warning, education and community risk management. IRI Brazil deepened technical cooperation with CEMADEN by co-developing a training pathway for faith leaders connected to RIMME focused on interpreting meteorological data, recognizing risk patterns and strengthening community-based alert and response capacity, shifting from awareness-raising toward operational readiness for increasingly severe extreme events.
