IRI Colombia deepened collaboration with global church institutions by engaging the World Council of Churches and participating in dialogue convened with the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) on restorative justice under Colombia’s peace process. IRI Colombia pushed for restorative sanctions that include environmental and territorial repair (reforestation and water protection) alongside social reconciliation, treating forests and water as victims of conflict. In Villagarzón, Putumayo, IRI Colombia partnered with Fundación Etnollano to train chapters on strengthening Indigenous territorial governance, focusing on Indigenous Territorial Entities (ETI), principles of self-government and pathways toward territorial formalization.
