IRI Peru deepened engagement with senior Church leadership in March through a private audience with the Apostolic Nuncio to Peru and a major national media interview featuring Archbishop Alfredo Vizcarra. These exchanges helped elevate public concern over illegal mining, the Amazon crisis, and the need for stronger public policy, while making clear that no current candidate speaks on behalf of the Catholic Church. By connecting church leadership to electoral ethics and national debate, IRI Peru is strengthening the public moral voice in defense of the Amazon.
