IRI Indonesia kicks off production of resource guides for houses of worship on forest protection

IRI Indonesia held a plenary kick-off meeting to coordinate the production of six guidebooks and six sermon books on the role of houses of worship in rainforest protection. The event was attended by members of the IRI Indonesia Advisory Council, 24 authors from eight major religious denominations in Indonesia, and Dr. Fakhrudin Mangunjaya, who spoke about the role of houses of worship in environmental conservation. By conveying the critical role of places of worship in environmental conservation, the resource guides to be produced do not only seek to raise awareness, but also initiate proactive measures and leverage diverse participation and expertise to drive impactful outcomes in tropical forest protection
